I think I can say with confidence that Matthew is home sick. For the past two days he is upset over nothing and in tears over and over again.
Today was cast change day. With Matthew feeling home sick it was a tough day. Usually cast changes don't bother him, but today, he cried over everything.
Dr Dobbs is still pleased with how his foot is looking. It is still not at 90 degrees but is turned out well. Next week will only be a tenotomy, no tendon transfer. He feels his foot should do well with only the current tendon transfer, but again, it is hard to tell what the future holds.
He was fitted for his AFO. He will be going into an articulated (jointed) AFO. He feels that with p/t, his foot should do well with this type of AFO.
We have just over a week left before we go home. I think it will be a hard one for Matthew that ends with surgery. Not going to be an easy week.

Cor and I have been thinking of you. We were in the mountains and things would remind us of you. Wish there was something I could do to make this easier on you and Matthew. IS there anything you need or something that would make things a little easier that I could send you?
Our thoughts and love continue to be with you two.
Take Care
{hugs}
Hang in there! I only know you through the clubfoot group but you seem like an amizing mom! Matthew is so lucky to have you!
Awww, thanks Jenn. Did you two go away for the weekend like you were hoping?
Thanks for the offer, we are good, just missing home is all.
Yes, yes we did. Can you tell I am smiling. :o)
I am looking into dates for the next one. So we will have to chat when you get home. You were greatly missed.
I would pack up your hubby and Ryan.... but they make take longer than a week to get there by mail.
I hope this week goes by quickly for you guys.
This clubfoot journey sure has a lot of peaks and valleys, doesn't it? It's only natural that it would take a toll on Matthew at some point -- but he's done tremendously well so far!! He'll perk up soon ... and I hope you do too. Cheer up -- one more week to go!
Could you make a fun calendar to hang in your room, so he could check off each day? Kind of like an Advent Calendar (before Christmas), with his greatest gift being a trip home! :)
Hugs and prayers for you both ...
Sorry to hear you're having a rough week. Hope things will be looking up soon - thinking of you all.
I've been reading your blog and I have to say you are an amazingly strong woman and Matthew, he's a super hero!
As Jen said, we thought of you this past weekend.
We will all get together when you get home, for your much needed evening out!
Big hug!
